Tortoise, auto reload definitely qualifies for the 5%. It's processed the same way as a manual reload, which also gets the 5%. 5% back at Starbucks for six months, on top of gold rewards, is pretty awesome!
That is awesome! I'm changing my auto reload to go on my Freedom card. Didn't do this last quarter because I easily maxed out the bonus on groceries. Having three sons helps
Just added $50 to my Starbucks card, thanks for the heads up!
@growing123 wrote:Maybe I'm late to the party, but I just noticed that Chase gave me the 5% bonus for coffee at Starbucks! I wasn't sure if this was considered 'dining'.
Now if they could just give me an auto CLI, all would be good!
The great thing about chase is their broad definitions of travel and dining!!! Almost everything counts as dining coffee, smoothies, fast food , sit down places everything!!

Very clutch man.
Got a question regarding starbucks card.
Giftcardgranny often sells starbucks gift cards (e-cards, physical cards etc) and the discount is 10-12%. Has someone tried buying these cards and loading it to their starbucks account?
If that works, it's much better than getting 5% through the freedom. I could also add another 1-1.5% on my other cards.

I haven't, but if they're standard gift cards, I can't see why you wouldn't be able to load them. This is a great idea though, by the way.
You can also get 5% at most bars they qualified as restaurants

Okay, thought I'll give this a try. Went ahead and purchased a $15 gift card from GCGranny, through Cardpool.com. Got a 12% discount + 1% CB on my Cash+ making it a total of 12.88%. I got an e-gift card, and was able to add it then transfer it to my regular starbucks card online.
I'll take 12-13% over 5% any day However, I visit my local starbucks 3-4 times a week; so having their card is helpful to me. If someone goes there once in a while, Freedom (or Discover It) may be better.

How long have you had the card? I got an auto CLI right before my 11th statement cut.
