Re: Starting Credit Lines

I did it over the phone. If he's not a member then you have to call. The DD214 is his discharge paper. I just had my dad email me a copy

Re: Starting Credit Lines

Personally, I would wait a couple of weeks to apply for the credit card with NFCU...or anyone else. See if the tax lien fall off in July due to the new reporting guidelines on public records.

I've just read many bad reviews about NFCU - curious why so many forum members have nothing but great reviews?

Also, which is really the better option - Chase, or NFCU? Thanks Many,

NFCU is as good as it gets.

The one possible knock on it is that the rates are higher than many other credit unions.

Re: Starting Credit Lines

NFCU is very generous.  I started off with a $600 secured card with them and I now have a 7300 limit on my new card with them. My scores were not very high when they approved me, but my internal score with them is what got me approved. I appreciate the fact that they look at other factors instead of just scores.

Why Not Let The Secured Card Just Increase The Limit, Oppose Too Getting A New Card? Just Wondering?
