Statement closing date

My card statement says:

Your next statement will close on 09/23/2012.

Is that the day balances (if any) are reported?

Thank you!

Re: Statement closing date

That depends on the credit card issuer, but generally I would say yes.

For example my US Bank statement cuts on the 15th and if I owe a balance it shows on the statement they mail me.

But if I pay off the balance before the end of the month even though I had a balance on my statement, they report a zero balance to the CB.

Re: Statement closing date

Thank you I should have been more specific. The issuer is Barclays if that helps.

Re: Statement closing date

Yup that date they list is the statement closing date. You have until 7pm EST to pay any balance off if you don't want it to report.
