Re: Statment closing reporting

I think you are confused on credit reporting. A credit report can update daily with the new info that lenders send to it.

But on your question, when the statement print has nothing to do with reporting to the bureaus. So, it is the balance on the 24th that is reported. But when the lenders report that information varies, so you may not see the report update for a week or more.

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $50,000, Chase Freedom (12/12) $16,500, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Prestige (4/16) $30,000

Re: Statment closing reporting

Just so there is no confusion, we are in agreement. 24th's balance (statement closing date) will be what gets reported to CRAs. ( reporting may not happen until a few days after that). To answer your original question on how to make sure 0 balance is reported, pay on 23rd, but include enough to cover pending transactions since those may clear after your payment bu before statement is cut.

Re: Statment closing reporting

I was not referring to you, Pakman. I am unable to quote (iPad), but I was referencing the OP's statement that his credit report updates on the 25th. A credit report, with all three bureaus, updates any day there is new information provided.

Re: Statment closing reporting

when a cc reports to a CRA are they report what the balance is on the day they report, even if its not the what is on the statement?

or are they just reporting what the balance was on the statement regardless of when it is reported

so they could report you statement balance but maybe like for like week after, it wouldnt be what the balance is the week after the statement, it would be the balance from the statement, right?

Amex BCE $14k (backdated to 1/11), Chase Freedom $500 (11/2012)
Discover It Student $3k (3/13), Citi Dividend Platinum Visa $3k (3/13)
Capital One Cash Rewards Visa $3.5k (3/13)

Re: Statment closing reporting

I'm a little confused - what is a "print out" date?
