Store cards and credit util

Last month, I cancelled my Gordon's Jewelers card because I don't really need it. I was afraid that it might negatively effect my util., but I haven't noticed any negative effect.

Meanwhile, just got a Home Depot card approved for 3.5 times the CL on the (now closed) Gordon's account.

Do store cards effect util. for the purpose of FICO score calculations? Seems like they may not, since you can only really use the card in one place, but I don't know. Does anyone out there know?

Re: Store cards and credit util

I'm pretty sure they do because my EX score dropped like a rock when I used my Penney's card last month and the reason it gave was high use of available credit.  Lol!  I charged 54 whole dollars.  Wooo!  Shopping Spree!!  (1st time used since I got it last Oct).  It's been since PIF & retired to the sock drawer.

Re: Store cards and credit util

Revolving credit is counted in utilization.
