Should I app for another card so soon, though? I don't want to kill my score with a ton of HPs. I want to get a gold card once my 30 days is up after I apped for a BCE.

The only difference I can find is the in terest rate.
In general I would say student cards are easier to be approved for, but will carry certain limits that the "regular" versions of the same card don't have.
For example, A Rep told me the maximum limit on my BoA Cash rewards card is $2,500 because I said I was a student on my application.
FYI-don't believe anything those reps tell you. They don't know anything more than you do, and often less. I believed something I shouldn't have and my subsequent actions resulted in a credit score drop of 40-50 points!
