So, I've been on here since March and started at a 570 TU and a 580 EQ. I'm now at a 696 TU and a 731 EQ as of a score watch today. I still have a few paid off cards to report so I'd imagine my TU will be more around 710ish and my EQ around 750 ish. I have no idea what my EXP is. TU is a little lower because of lates in 2008 that were a mistake that I haven't disputed yet(11 30 day lates). Since they are over 5 years I don't think it will effect me too much. So anywho my Credit history is 10 years 8 months right now, and my AAOA is 5 years. Below is my credit profile. I'm looking to get a decent CL since everything I have is low. My utilzation right now without a couple reflected below is around 17%. Some of my fav's are the US Bank Cash+, Chase Freedom, BOA 123. EQ and EX are baddy free

I would leave US Bank Cash+ alone for now, that may be out of your league. How many INQ's do you have on your reports?
According to Myfico 3 on TU and 4 on EQ
try the chase freedom, and yes avoid the cash+ its a signature card, if you cant meet the 5000 min cl theyd just bump you down to a crummy 1% cash rewards card.
Yeah, i def don't want the 1% cashback. That would be a waste of an INQ and a new account on my record.
So how do I get to a Sig card? Income for my household is 85k....I would be totally fine with either the BOA 123 or the Freedom, but I have a usb platinum checking account for the past 6 years. Having a Plat card turns the 5% cashback to 5.5%, and the 2% catagory to 3%, and the 1 to 1.5%...so its a pretty sick card for me. Sigh...wish I could have it
to get a visa sig. you have to have cards with a min. 5000 limit. when you apply for an actual sig. card like the Chase Sapphire or US Bank Cash+ they will see that you meet the minimum requirments for that card. Its very unlikely that your first cc with 5000 or over limit will be a signature.
I'd go for the Chase Freedom! It's $100 cash back if you spend $500 now, also ... 0% on purchases/BTs for 15 months... there's a guaranteed 1% cash back on all purchases, and 5% on certain quarterly purchases!
Also, you could prob get a decent credit line, and they are good with recons ;-)
also, you could ask for a CLI on some of your current accounts, to help with util., every little bit counts :-)
Not being a wiseass here, but go for a library card.
Use your Discover card frequently, right up to its limit, if possible, and pay it off each and every month, in full.
That's where you'll find the key to higher credit lines, IMO.
Good luck with everything!!

If you look at the benefits of the platinum package you will see that US bank will enhance the reward by 50%. So on cash rewards card you would get 1.5% cash back. It does not seem like much but does add up. I have both Cash + and Cash Rewards cards.
