You can write GW letters to your creditors; it might not work but it's worth a try.

Good job.

For the record whenever you close an account it stays on your credit report for 10 years. There is no impact on your AAoA. The only impact one would felt is utilization which doesn't apply to you since it is a charge card to begin with.
