Good plan! I was wondering about keeping accounts open for non-activity. Plan to leave a few of my cards untouched somewhere.
Anyone try using one of the cards for annual purchases? Amazon prime, VPN service, VPS, domains, Dedicated servers?
Wish i could buy booze in Rite-aid though..
State liquor stores only in PA... :/
They just opened selling beer in grocery stores, up to a 6pack. Cases and up you still need to go to a dedicated distributor..
We don't have that problem in CA. I usually use JCP at Rite-Aid, mainly to keep usage and my Gold status. It felt a little naughty the first time I used JCP to buy liquor!
But yes, buy yourself an ice cream cone at Rite-Aid if you need to keep your CareCredit account alive. I'm at the point where I won't be terribly devastated if it gets closed...I might even go ahead and close it myself.

Thanks for all the replys. I had the card about 10 months. I was not aware that I could use the card at Riteaid. I guess it's not good for emergencies because you really can't depend on them keeping it open.CareCredit is not a credit card.
CareCredit pays your dentist/veterinarian/etc. Then you owe the bill for those dentist/veterinarian/etc. services to CareCredit.
If you don't repay (to CareCredit) the full amount of the loan by the end of the loan's introductory period, interest at 26.99% is due on the full amount of the loan even if you made payments.
Here's a URL for the CareCredit "credit card" account agreement (.pdf file):

They extend you credit, so it's a credit card in the sense that any store card (PLCC) is a "credit card". But only their accounts with MC capabilites are credit cards in the bankcard sense.
But yes, you can use the non-MC version of the Care Credit card at Rite-Aid. Stores may choose to take whatever payment tney like, as long as they're set up with the capability. Rite-Aid probably got a good deal to accept Care Credit.
