If you and your family shop at Barnes & Noble, you might
consider the B & N Barclays Mastercard. They pull TU
exclusively and qualifying FICO scores are 630 - 730.
Opening limits have been as low as $500 instantly to
$15,000 with a manual review.
Hope this helps. Enjoy the day! Smiley Happy

Just curious CanDo, what part of VA are you from? I might be your neighbor. Smiley Happy

Re: TU NC Pullers

I applied for Carnival Seamiles and I noticed Barclay as an inquiry. They declined me. They said I had limited credit.  I don't know if I should try BJ's since it will still be Barclay's.  Did you apply in the store?

Hey Fretless, Smiley Happy

I'm not far from Martinsville (of Nascar fame).

If I remember correctly, you live in the Hampton Roads area,
so we're about 3.5 - 4 hours drive apart as the crow flies. Smiley Happy

Ah. Excellent memory! I've played a couple gigs out in Blacksburg before, but never Martinsville. Hopefully I can get out there one day.

OP - sorry for the threadjack.

Back on topic...Discover seems to be pulling TU for a lot of people here recently.

Discover may not be a good idea for OP. OP stated a decline for limited history. I don't think Discover likes limited history at all.

Back to OP...

That's pretty ominous --if they declined you for Carnival, the B&N option doesn't look good.

What reason did they give you for the decline? Some, like high util, can be fixed if you have the cash. Others, like too many inqs or too short history can only be cured by time.

Re: TU NC Pullers

I got a preapproval letter and applied online.

Instant approval.

Then I had 5 days to upload the picture for the card. They approved that too.

It was very smooth.

Although I tried for CLI on activation and they said, Nope!
