sometimes i have a hard time parting with money. so i knew i need an area rug (cheap)...one drink seemed to calm my nerves prior to shelling out cash.
Was a pretty nice approval. I'm happy. it was truly a fluke - see when you set your expectations low (thought i would get a 200 or 500 red card) then when the phone call came today...a nice surpise.
Dear diary, today was a good day.

Thanks DI - what kind of benefits doyou get for having Target visa? funny thing is, i wanted the immediate ten percent discount since i had a couple hundred in the cart...
No benefits Daisy...unless one considers an APR above 20% as a benefit.
Congrats on the credit limit with Target! I disagree that there are no benefits to using a Target card whether it's a Visa or Red Card. If you spend $1,000 on it , you get a 10% off card for an entire day of shopping. I buy groceries there and have my Rx's filled (another 10% discount card if you fill 10 prescriptions). I usually run about $600 through that card every month and PIF. When I get my 10% discount cards both my sister and I do major grocery shopping, put both grocery orders on my card and usually save about $30 by doing so. We do the same thing when I get the coupon from the prescriptions. Plus, they just raised my limit by 50%, so I'm happy with the card.
KayCee, thanks for the congrats. i truly was expecting a 500 red card. a nice surpise. Maybe the planets are in perfect alignment.
so if spend 1K on it i get 10% off my purchase. now i can buy my platform bed...i'll throw 1k on it, pay diff in cash and still get 10% off. or does it have to be at target. it's kind of hard to spend $1k at target....
If you spend $200 x 5 you've spent $1,000!

I only spent up to $200 in 2008. I don't make big charges on it every month. I haven't shopped at Target any this year. I recently charged my cable/internet bill to the card to show usage. Target reduced my limit to $1k from $1500. That didn't sit well with me. Plus the interest is outrageous.
