@dodfire wrote:Ok maybe this seems like a stupid question...but since I am a new AMEX card holder I am going to ask it. I see everyone talking about this 3x CLI at 61 days....do you have to make this request ON the 61st day or just anytime after 60 days?? Second, is your next CLI at 6 months from that date or 6 months from the beginning date of the card? Thanks,
You can make the 3x request on the 61st day or later. If you are denied or approved, you can make your next request for a CLI 6 months from the date of your 3x request.
I believe if you are denied the timeline is only 90 days according to the original post. Approved is 6 months based on reports from other members.
Edits to my post above for additional data.

That is correct SnackTrader (love that nick btw ). Also the 6 months is actually 180 days, OP has not been updated yet. Still waiting for some other points to consolidate.
Congrats on your CLI success and thank you for providing detailed data points. Hope to hear good new 181 days later. Let us know how it all goes!

Snowkitty just reported having the same problem as others in finding the request CLI option. It has not been showing up under manage account as reported in the original post.
I want to officially recommend that the original post be edited to reflect the second place to find the request CLI option as it is stated in post #73 of this thread.
Motion made, will someone second?
I will second that! I totally freaked out when it was not there and thought I did something wrong...lol
Congrats on the recent CLIs. The OP in the discussion thread (this thread) has showed the pic from post 73 since the third update (01/26/2013). I agree the sticky has not been updated yet.
I am adding a few more updates and then we will update the clean sticky as well. Rev and mods had to do extra work to organize the sticky and this discussion threads, so been trying to avoid multiple changes.
Hi.. I am a newbie here.. My Amex credit card was opened all the way back in June 2011 with a credit limit of $4K, and I have not had any credit limit increase after that.. My highest credit limit on any of my cards is $6.5K.. All cards are always paid in full.. Should I just go the online way and request a credit limit of $12K (or should I request for a lower amount)? I assume there won't be any hard pulls (or should I check my credit reports to see when Amex last did a soft pull).. Thanks in advance for any replies..
