Can someone explain what the difference is between requesting future increases at 180 days vs 181 days? The guide mentions 180 days, but in this discussion thread, there are many references to 181 days.

The rule is 180 full days after last cli. So you become eligible on the 181st day.

Next Thursday is judgment day for me.  If approved I will move AMEX to top of my list of cards used.  If declined, they will drop below my CapOne in usage or be closed.

Hey all,

I'm trying to find this answer in the thread, but it's a simple question, so I figured I'd post since someone here probably knows the answer.

I just got approved for an Amex 2 weeks ago. I may apply for a second one within the next few days. If I get approved for a second Amex now, can I still request the 3x CLI for the first card on day 61?  Or do I need to wait 6-months from approval on the 2nd card?

So is the 61 day limit increase a HP or SP?  I have all of my reports frozen, and I will unfreeze if I have to, but don't want to unfreeze them.

I have the following cards:

Delta Gold initial limit $3500 approved 8/6/2014

Blue Sky initial limit $8500 approved 8/11/2014

Jet Blue initial limit $8000 approved 8/14/2014

I was thinking about requesting the 3x CLI on the Jet Blue card so that card will hopefully take me to $24,000.  Don't want to risk FR with the Blue Sky card since that will put me over the 25K mark.

After this card gets the 3x CLI, how long do I have to wait for requesting a CLI on the other cards?

SP, 6 months after a CLI before requesting an increase on any other Amex.  Those are the things I knew for sure.  What I wasn't sure about was whether or not you could apply for a 61-day CLI after opening a second account within those first 61 days (wasn't sure if another new account counted as the "one CLI per 6 months".  However, reading threads on other sites, it seems that the additional apps will not affect your ability to get 3x on whichever 61-day CLI you try first.  But after that, you can't get a CLI on anything with Amex for 6 months.
