Have people had to ask Discover for CLIs? All of mine have been auto after six months at a time.
I get the same thing when I click on the luv button. I called them a while back they told me 6 months. I am hoping they do an auto.

I had mine for 10 months and nothing, not even a auto cli. I used the card often but seeing how It's not going to grow i stopped using it.
I wouldn't conclude that a Discover card is not going to grow. It's not going to grow in predictable leaps like a GE or Amex card often does. Discover has its own mysterious, often slow, ways of doing things. I've had Discover for close to 20 years and still couldn't begin to tell you what their methods and standards for CLIs are. But still they've grown to be my highest CL. And it's an unfailingly good card with unfailingly good customer service.

I have seen them do random sp's on my credit so I guess they keep watch. Hopefully they will see when my new Amex's show up and give me a cli then. I hope they do something because I really like the card but I use the higher limit cards so that IF a balance posts, it will be small compared to my cl.
What I can tell you is that I have done the same thing and got the message to call.
I finally got the guts to call as I wanted to get another increase. I have not had my card all that long, 1.5 years.
Started at 7500, got an auto cli of 800 about 6 months after, then I tried online and by automated phone, got the call message.
When I did call on a saturday AM I got a nice guy, very very chatty, we talked about my job, what type of job, and I am self employed. Talk even about the snow conditions and skiing, about a 10 min conversation.
After review, he said you approved for 2k increase with only a soft pull, then at the end he asked if there was anything else he could do, so I asked, can you do another 1k, and he said yes, got 3k with soft, my highest CL.
I found they just want to talk to you, hear you, you being sincere, a regular person, and why you love Discover so much doesn't hurt either.
Just call, it can't hurt.
I am due to call agaiin next month, and I will be asking for another 3.2k, I want to reach the 15k barrier.
All thanks to this forum as I would never has just called and asked before getting into here.

This is very interesting. As I stated (I think) I don't really need the CLi, I just wondered what all the "luv button" talk was about. I have been happy with the small increases that they have given me every quarter or so. But since I have had the card for a year now, I may be due something more substantial. Although if I do call, I hope they continue to grant the quarterly increases whatever their decision.
My wife has had her Discover card for 18 months and never once has the "luv " button done anything but the 1-800-nocli4U business.
we have never called them for a CLI but now that our total util is less than 5%, they will be getting a call if they don't auto her very soon.
I abuse my discover card for the first 6 months. Started with 1200 limit after 6 months without asking I received a letter upping my limit to 2000.
I always kept a 20% balance at billing. The card turns a year on April, hopefully they will mail me more love.
My problem lies with BofA been 8 months and nothing on a 500 limit. PIF 90% of balance every month Took part in all there "surveys". Etc etc. and nothing. Called and they wanted to do a HP. No thanks. Damn BofA and there baby limits. All my cc are 1500+.
