I did it.
First I asked for a $5k increase. It said to get $5k, it would be a hard pull, so I hit cancel.
Then I tried again for $2,500, instantly approved with a soft pull.
I tried also. Account was opened 4/2011, current CL is 4k. Asked for 2500, they countered with 500 and said to be considered for 2500 it would require a hard pull. I took the 500.
Last two posts. Fascinating. I wonder how long you'd have to wait til you are considered for a CLI.
I've been with Discover only since February.

I was told when I got the card that you could ask for a CLI at 6 months. After I had the card 6 months, the CLI button was there, and when I did the request I got the message that a hard pull would be required do I cancelled the request. The CLI button then went away. I looked for the CLI request on the account just this past week and it wasn't there. When I saw this post I checked this AM, and the CLI button was back, so I pulled the trigger. I hoped for more, but since I wasn't really planning on using the CLI for anything but help with utilization, $500 is OK. At this point, I don't want a hard pull for a CLI ( although I just thought about it, they check EQ and I have 0 INQ's on EQ)! Oh well, no biggie. Good luck to everyone else with CLI's!!
I just tried and got "
We're Sorry.
Your credit limit increase request cannot be processed at this time. For assistance, please call 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683)."
But I have only had the card since January, so maybe at 6 months I will click it again.
