Re: The Duck Card

@op,

You indicate you have 7 inquiries, but two accounts.  Were you denied 5 others?  I ask because Barclays may be a possibility, but they are sensative to inquiries and a lot of new accounts, but you only have two new accounts.  They pull transunion whereas the Duck pulls Equifax.  How many inquiries do you have on transunion and Experian.  Barclays has double pulled me on transunion and Experian to verify.

Re: The Duck Card

@op,

USAA offers secured cards with only a $35 annual fee.  The good thing about them is you can apply for a regular card and if denied, they will counter with a secured card.  The minimum secured amount is $250 and their APR is 9.9%.  I think that is pretty low of an APR.  The card however will not graduate.  They pull Equifax.

Re: The Duck Card

@op,

I started my rebuild back in March 2012 with two secured cards from USAA at $5000 each.  What I did was charge and PIF each month.  Last year (July 2013) I applied for an American Express card and was approved and subsequently got other amex cards.  What I do now is take the amex cards and buy vanilla reload cards and load those on to my bluebird account.  Then I pay all my bills from bluebird and then when I get paid, pay off the credit cards.  This has been an excellent choice to continue building strong credit history.

Re: The Duck Card

Should I do the discover or BoA? At least they graduate and the discover has no annual fee and cash back. I really hope I get the duck card though! Smiley Happy

Re: The Duck Card

And on the card I have now I always pay in full as well. However I was hoping the duck card could help finance a move (Uhaul and gas for it).

Re: The Duck Card

I have no experience with BoA.  I just got my Discover card in October 2013 with a credit line of $6500.  I asked for a credit line increase this past weekend to $10000 and was approved.  That's 3500 in a 3 month period on a new card.  I'm therefore partial to Discover.

This is odd. They said they don't need to verify anything on my account that I would get either the card/approval or a denial in the mail in 7-10 business days. What could this possibly mean?
