Just to add to why the Zync card is so great. It's a charge card, not a credit card. Your credit card should have better rewards as they are charging you interest. I use mine as I would my debit card and I can tell u that the rewards are a lot better than any debit card I know. The card is easy to get (for now) and it let's you establish a relationship with American Express which by all accounts is very important to them. I just got the SPG Card and honestly I think I would of been declined if I did not start with the Zync. My favorite part tho is the customer service.
That's a very good way of looking at it. Never thought of it that way.
This is why I love this forum. Constantly learning something new.

@ShootStar, two are paid off ( actually waiting for one of the paid to be removed) the other one that is remaining is not paid is due to fall off 6/11.

@ iluvmyfico, that's exact;y how I use any of my cards. Once I use it, I pay in full every month with the exception of maybe one. I would allow to one to show a small balance. My actual Total Util is only 2%.

I had a Premier Rewards Gold AU, just got a approved for a Zync like three weeks ago. I love it.
Treat AMEX well, and they will (most likely) treat you well too ![]()
Congrats on the card!

Congrats all for your successes. Here is my story. I called this morning as I was interested in product changing from Green to Zync, and the rep informed me that I had to flat out apply. I asked, "I can't product change from one charge card to another?" She then told me twice that the Zync card is not a charge card. She also said that with the Green I could use my rewards for travel and the Zync I cannot, therefore, product change was not available. I always thought the Zync was a charge card.
I don't want to pay the annual fee on the Green, and I mentioned that to the rep, and she suggested Blue versus Zync. So my rewards could transfer over to the Blue and it won't cost me a thing. Still have until March to decide which route to take. Blue or Zync. Thoughts? BTW I dislike the color of the Zync!

The ZYNC you have to buy packages for the different benefits. Thinking from the CSR's point of view the basic ZYNC does not have the same rewards as the GREEN, unless you upgrade with the packages which cost additional fee's. Do not know why wouldn't be considered a charge card as it has to be paid in full just the same. With AMEX anything is possible, they change things around so much. Besides upgrading to the BLUE is a better card then ZYNC and no fee with-out losing the benefits of the card you have now.
Applying for a card or changing your present card because of how a card looks really isn't beneficial. I can't say I have never done this, but I have learned if the card is not beneficial to me and my spending habits, there really is no need for it.
Just my 3 cents.
