so I applied for NFCU for the rewards card with the sign up bonus. They asked me if I wanted MC or Visa. I said "ummmm visa I guess"?
Anyone know the difference or why they would ask that? Lol
Afaik, the GoRewards card only comes in Visa. The only MasterCard that NDCU offers is their Platinum card.
I actually have a goRewards Mastercard so I can use it at Sam's.

I stand corrected. Good to know.

I had goRewards MC before PCing it to a cashRewards visa.
I consider Visa/MC largely the same, it's just cool of nfed to let you choose.
I originally went with MC just to have at least one card on each major network.
Nfed? Is that credit union a result of a merger between NFCU and PenFed? 😀

Right. Some lenders (not many) do provide the option to choose the network type. USAA is another one that allows you to choose the type of network for most of their CCs. With Citi, you can PC to whichever one is available for the specific product (if elegible). Quite a few let you do this before and after. Glad you were able to be provided the option!
that is really interesting to know. I'd go with Visa.
the capone, barclays, etc. crowd definitely make it either a hardline NO in my experience lol about conversions/product change to visa/mc card or it's no problem lol.
