Hopefully this is obvious, but once you get the card, there is no need to use it for "everything" BCE is good for groceries (3%), gas and a set of department stores (2%).
Everything else is 1%. So, when you can use Freedom for a 5% category, use that instead! And, if you value URs at more than 1c (as many do), then use the Freedom for all 1% spending as well.

That's a good point, Chase Freedom is at 5% for gas stations, starbucks and drugstores. I don't go to Starbucks and rarely visit a drug store so I'll be using my Freedom exclusively for gas for the next few months. I know this should have been obvious, but I really didn't think of it this way. Thanks for the heads up!
