I have two CC that I am thinking of changing:
My AMEX Blue to a AMEX Blue Cash Everyday
My Bankamericard Rewards Platinum Plus to a Bankamericard cash rewards or Bankamericard power rewards.
Which is a better cash back card between the above cards? Which is a better rewards card between the above cards? Also does amex blue cash everyday, bankamericard cash, and bankamericard power show credit limits on credit report?
Reason why those cards because I don't have a cash back credit card and all my credit cards are rewards points. Though my boa card has cash back deals where you choose merchants but only last a certain amount of time).
Finally I have a Fifth Third Bank Visa Signature Rewards Card which I only charge my cable bill and netflix. I never use this card besides those two bills. I prefer the Rewards program of my AMEX blue and Chase Sapphire Preferred. I know canceling a credit card can reduce your utilization ratio but it is a visa signature card that does not report my actual credit limit. I saw my credit report and it displays only my high credit of $900 so I am guessing that's what being use as the credit limit for my utilization ratio. In addition, Amex is 12 years, BOA is 6 years, I got my Chase card a couple days ago, Fifth Third is 3.5 years, and macys card is 6 years. Would closing my fifth third hurt my score substantially? My score on credit karma is 785 and my credit limit is 28k so any other card suggestions let me know. Thanks a lot gentlemen.
I think the BCE is better than BofA.
wow $28k on 5/3, can you PC that to somethign that reports the CL??! id keep just because but no probably won't hurt you if you want to get rid of it especially if it's not reporting the CL anway.
My total credit limit is 28k and fifth third card has a 3k credit limit but on my reports shows $900 as the high limit which I believe credit bureaus see as my credit limit.
Also I am thinking of closing my macys credit card which has only a credit limit of $100. I have had it for 6 years and never used it since 2007. Does anybody know if this will shorten my history average? Not sure if store credit cards have much influence.
Personally, the BoA 123 cash rewards card is better for me than the Amex BCE because 3% cash back is better than 2% cashback for me. I don't do my grocery store shopping at a regular grocery store, but at Target which gets 1% cashback from both cards, so I have the Target debit card for that.
I think it depends on your spending habits to decide which is the better card.
I shop at meijer for groceries and gas up at speedway. I am leaning towards boa cash rewards plus I have a boa checking account.
I also forgot to add I am planning to change my last name for personal reasons by a judge. Will I have any issues product changing or applying for credit card?
