Thinking about the chase reserve & 5/24.

So I slowed down my card apps pretty drastically although I have added some business cards. my personal app approval dates are:

3-24-16 chase marriott
8-30-15 amex plat
8-29-15 citi premier
6-8-15 citi prestige
1-7-15 chase hyatt
1-3-15 barclay arrival+
1-3-15 citi

So if I just look at my personal apps it seems to me that I would be ok with 5/24 for a CSR app after 1-7-17, because I would drop down to 4/24 at that point. Would this be correct? Now to throw a kink into it all. I opened an Ink plus business card around Feb of 2016. Is that business card going to push me back over the 5/24? All other apps I have had are non-chase business cards that do not report to credit reports. On a positive note I checked my credit score today and met my goal of breaking 800 as my fico 8 is showing as 808.

Goal Score: 800 (Achieved!) In garden until Sepetember 2019

Chase can see their own business card internally, even though it doesn't show on your personal credit reports, so yes that will put you over for them.

I feel your frustration somewhat as I will need to wait for July 2018 with no apps to fall under 5/24 again. Just crossing my fingers for an in-branch pre-approval to show up sooner than later as I really would like to switch to the CSR, and downgrade my CSP to a F5.

Hmm its only new accounts right? Like when I PC an exisiting card with another lender that won't be counted as a new account? So if my business card is screwing me up then it looks like I won't be able to app for it until 6-8-15. If that is the situation I may just say screw it and go for the chase ritz card (which I understand is not subjected to 5/24) and one other credit card (maybe I will grab the discover it) then stay in the garden until September when my two august accounts drop off. Then I will be back at 4/24, but I will have picked up two personal cards in the meantime.

Re: Thinking about the chase reserve & 5/24.

Yeah PC is fine - it is just 5 or more new credit cards opened (whether they are closed since then or not) within the last 24 months.

So if you opened 5 cards 23 months ago and closed them all, you are still going to be declined because they show up as opened within that time period.

PC doesn't show as a new card account, so you'll be fine with those.

Re: Thinking about the chase reserve & 5/24.

Chase can see their own business cards internally even without them being on your actual credit report so your date is probably premature. I would include the Ink card in your 5/24 calculation.

Do you need the Ritz card or are you apping just for the sake of apping?

Not sure I understand the question. What difference does it make? I know which cards I wish to have and have been doing this for years.
