I'll add a -1 to this thread. Applied for a BCE and received the email to verify house address/phone number so naturally I was excited.

I called the next day and after a 10 minute verification, I was denied on the grounds that I had limited credit history along with too many inquiries for the year.

Icing on the cake was when Fico notified me I had an inquiry for AMEX even though I was denied.

Curious were you a cardholder already?

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Nope, my family has had AMEX cards, but that would be the extent of the history.
