Is it just the low APR that's getting everyone all excited?
POTENTIALLY low APR. Just says "as low as". Rates are "8.99, 9.24, 11.24, 14.24, or 18%" and while they aren't horrible, nothing that special if you don't get the lowest two (no idea why they have 9.24 which is so close to 8.99)
Wow guys, checked back to see all this activity! I am thinking slow-boat CU like.... NASA. I am interested to see more DP. I have a Promise card, if I didn't, i would certainly app for this. :0)
Normally I am not one to call a card worthless because each person has his/her own needs, but I really don't see what this card offers that isn't strictly outclassed by a number of other offerings. The low advertised 8.99% APR is just the lowest value in a range of APRs an applicant may receive, and it is by no means guaranteed. For that, I'd recommend other options, including the Ring MC, which has a lower APR and isn't a range. And there are other options as well for people who don't like Barclays.
It seems like the only niche market that this would appeal to would be someone who just absolutely loves the throwback design, lol.
Aside from the somewhat cool retro appearance and the potential of a low APR, which of course means nothing to people who PIF, what is the attraction of this card? I suppose if they were handing huge SL's it would be a plus but this card is virtually worthless otherwise. Just curious what the true appeal is?
I think you guys nailed it - design and potential low APR.
From people that PIF, interest % is pretty irrelevant. I honestly don't care if my cards are 15% or 30%. It's all the same to me.
