Time to cut spending

Ive just paid an $8000 bill to my AMEX Zync card (prior to please pay by date Smiley Happy ) and Ive run ten of thousands of dollars through my cards in the last 3 months (since getting them in Sept).  Time to cut back on spending and save some.  Ive gotten all my bonus point offers and have established a high dollar value and early payments with all my new cards.  Now Im going to stabilize my spending as work on house is just about done and limit spending to a more reasonable 2-3k per month.

Then I'll have a good nest egg to use on my spending on signup bonuses for CSP and SPG in June Smiley Happy

Re: Time to cut spending

I think that sounds great Duncan. You know just as well as anyone that most of us on here aren't just credit addicts, we are also personal financial wackos. I personally have kept track of every penny I have spent since August of 2010 (right after I started my first job). So you are in good company to work through a budget and stick with it.

I hope it works out well for you, and let us know if you need any help!

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $50,000, Chase Freedom (12/12) $16,500, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Prestige (4/16) $30,000

Re: Time to cut spending

congrats!

yes its defintily time to save some money.

my util jumped from reporting 600 dollars too a whopping 4500!. will all be paid off by end of feb except for maybe 1k (its on a best buy 0% deal)

you have to admit though hitting that send payment button on amex makes it worth while. due date for me is the 28th. made about 1600 in payments on that thing this month.

just curious on your zync what are the reward points good for? i like chase freedoms how you can save and or just add it too your statement if need be.

Re: Time to cut spending

Reward points aren't great. I will get another charge card later and ill convert them to the better version of Amex points (cat remember the names of the points right now).

Re: Time to cut spending

It's on my wish list. I'm going to double app for SPG and one other AMEX (maybe BCP or Hilton) after refi in June. Ill also app for CSP, Citi Forward and 1 more card (considering Discover, another NFCU card or US Bank Flex perks).

Hoping to go 5 for 5 again Smiley Wink
