Tips on how to upgrade US Bank Cash Rewards to US Bank Cash+ credit card?

I currently have had a US Bank Cash Rewards Card for about 4 months now with a 4k credit limit. I called yesterday to upgrade but they told me I had to wait 2 more months (for a total of 6 months). Should I call the customer service line again or just wait? What are the chances, and is there anything I can/should do to improve them? Thanks.

to my knowledge you also need a 5k line to get the cash+ but i could be mistaken.
