Top CCC to get secured card with

I'm planning to get a secured card but I don't know which company to go to. I'm looking for a company that is good with unsecuring secured cc so I can get my deposit after a good payment history and a company that is good with reporting to the EQ,TU,and EX.

I know BofA is good with unsecuring secured credit cards after 12 months of good payment history. I'm looking for another company because I'm getting two secured CC to rebuild my credit.

Re: Top CCC to get secured card with

I believe the only other secured cards that can "graduate" to unsecured are US Bank, Citi and Wells Fargo.

As far as I have seen from others US bank is the most likely to graduate but they say you need a Fico around 680. it seems some people have had success graduating Citi and Wells after 18 months.

Citi does not offer a secured card app online, you have to request it our go into a branch.

The nice thing about US bank is that they have several co branded secured cards that offer rewards.

Re: Top CCC to get secured card with

US bank is a good one to build a relationship with cause it can be harder to get in with them later. I have a 760 score and over 100k in credit limits and they still won't approve me for a Flexperks card =\ they're inquiry sensitive too without a relationship.

DCU is a sound choice digital credit union. Very good credit union and offers a 100% free fico score each month makes it a great choice for people rebuilding their credit.

Re: Top CCC to get secured card with

Idk about US Bank but if you are thinking about DCU- it is 2 HP's for membership and cc's. Also, some have been approved for cc's and not for their membership.
I love DCU as my primary CU and their rates are decent on their cc's ( don't have any experience with their secured cards) .

YMMV

Re: Top CCC to get secured card with

In order to actually receive their Credit card, you have to be a member. If your membership is not approved you will not get the cc.

Re: Top CCC to get secured card with

So even if get approved for a CC but not get approved for membership. I wont get it? Is it hard to get a membership? You think a score of 623 will get approved?

Re: Top CCC to get secured card with

Yes, you can be approved for a CC and not for their membership and ultimately not get the CC. I know from others who posted that they also verify identity, pull CR and they are denied membership.

IDK, if your score is the only thing they are looking at-

I wish I could give you a more definitive answer.
