I really want to get Torrid card (from Comenity). So I got my husband the VS thru shopping cart trick and it was for $350. Now i have tried every other store and nothing. So i am wondering if I didn't get the pop up in the shopping cart does that mean I won't get approved if I apply?
I live in FL. EX 620 EQ&TU 598 (2 collections $250 &$67) 3 paid in full charge offs from a couple years ago. walmart, target, wellsfargo secured, cap1 plat, cap1 journey &vs. 20% UTL. I don't mind getting the HP from Torrid or Onestopplus if I can get approved (even tho SP from cart trick would be better).
Do they pull EX?
Anyone have any approvals with similar (or worse) scores? Idk why shopping cart trick won't work but I can do the app and get HP. Just didn't know if the fact that I didn't get the pop-up meant I won't get approved at all.
-THANKS!

I'm not sure it's one that works with the "Shopping Cart trick," so you'd probably have to outright app for it. The card is backed by Comenity and many of their cards will approve applicants with scores in your range. I'm not sure about Torrid, however. Also, AFAIK, you can't use the Torrid card for purchases at Hot Topic (that might make it a more useful card for many people considering it).
bump. explained what I was asking a little better. lol

The Shopping Cart Trick doesn't work with all Comenity CCs. Torrid likely is one of the cards that doesn't do it.
Have you checked the "whogavemecredit" website to see who's been approved?

Yes I did. I also looked at the credit pulls database from creditboards.com and there just wasn't much on there. thats why i was hoping maybe some of you comenity cards experts might know. lol.
the creditboard had 1 person with same EX score & similar inq/collections/charge offs as me but it was in ohio. they were approved for $500
there was also someone who was approved for $250 w/ a 579 score in Virgina. comments said rebuilding after identiy theft.
on whogavemecredit there was someone in Fl who was approved for $350 w. 600 EX but that was back in 01/2012 (no comments tho).
I figure its prob not as common as VS or Express. I would be happy to get Onestopplus too. (on the database sites there are only ones from 2012 and earlier. scores ranging from 587-803 approvals)

If you want the Torrid card and can spare the HP on EX, I'd say just go for it. Even if you get denied, at least you know what you'll need to work on. However, given what you've found on the other sites, I think the odds are stacked in your favor.
As for OneStopPlus, have you tried the other related stores for the pop-up (Woman Within, Roamans, Jessica London, BrylaneHome, KingSize)?

Hopefully you haven't App'd already. About 3 weeks ago I was in Torrid looking for a dress. At the register, the cashier asked if I was a part of their rewards program. After providing my email, she looked me up and within seconds it stated that I was preappoved for their credit card. I went ahead and accepted. Instant in store approval of $500! No hp and my Eq score is 638. Go to the store and see how this works for you. I guess it's a different type of "shopping cart trick". I had a similar experience with Ny&Co a year ago. Good luck
I wish I lived close enough to a store to go in... but the nearest is Orlando. But on a postivie note I did get approved! took forever to get up the nerve but i reallly wanted this shirt and jeans.
