I applied for a Toys R us Credit being that im always there on the weekends spending about a 100$ each time. I got the ugly message you don't want to get...:thank you for applying for an R us Credit Card. Your application is currently being reviewed....Is this a Maybe approved or hit the road respose?
I tried searching the boards but no avail...
Thanks.
I don't know, but I say give them a call.
Best of luck!!
No one likes getting the dreaded "pending" message- there are two ways to deal with it: (1) Call them and see if you can expedite the matter (2) Sit and wait and definitely don't stress it.
The choice is yours to make.
Did you get a response in the mail yet? I just applied and got the same msg you did. High credit score also, I should have been instantly approved like everywhere else, but instead:
"Thank you for applying for an "R"Us Credit Card.
Your application is currently being reviewed.
You will be notified in writing about the status of your application within 30 days."
That's the same msg I would get years ago when I had really bad credit and I would apply for a credit card somewhere.
I'm really worried it's going to be denied for some reason. :/
Is a Toys R Us credit card harder to get than other Store credit cards?

Your TU score might be too low for that card, so I think it's likely a denial. However, it could just be an identity issue. I'd call in and ask.
Is there a such thing as having 'too many cards' or like 'too much owed compared to your income' anything like that?
Out of curiosity I went ahead and applied for a Sears card (different bank) and it too gave me pretty much the same response as toys are us. Pretty sure they were both denied
Does maxing out your cards affect anything?
Short credit history?
I got all my other cards perfectly fine.
I have credit with Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Best Buy & Care Credit. The first 3 are pretty well maxed out. No other expenses- no rent, no car payments etc... Pretty short credit history though (got my first credit cards last year.) Income is sad, I put 30k on all my applications. And my credit score is 683. Clean credit report, no late payments etc..

Since Sears and Home Depot are backed by Citi, I'm pretty sure your maxed out Citi didn't favor well in their review of your Sears app.
Yes, UTIL (utilitzation) makes up about 1/3 of your FICO score, so keeping it low would help out your approvals chances a lot.
Awesome, thank you SO much for the helpful information
