I have both the BCE and ED card. I have no use for the BCE & would like to transfer the BCE CL to create one mighty and all powerful ED CARD.
Before requesting this, I have a few questions to ask.
1. Does AMEX allow you to transfer CL's?
1a. What amount must I leave in the account that I am closing?
2. These cards have an MSD of 2003, would it be better to leave them both open so I have 2 TL's dating that far back?
3. Are you allowed to request a 3x after transferring CL's? I am eligible 8/8/14.
4. Is there an analyst line to request the above? Or is it something a regular CSR can handle?
5. What would you do?
Thanks in advance for any knowledge shared!

Yes, they allow CL reallocation but it's not as easy as Chase.
The policy* is the donor account has to have had 13 billing statements and the to account has to be open for at least 61 days.
There is no analyst line that I'm aware of and I'm not sure if asking for a CLI after a reallocation is possible without waiting for 180 days.
Closing a TL does not remove the reporting on your CR's
i would get the 3x CLI next month and then proceed with the reallocation.
* A few have posted success without waiting the 13 statements-YMMV
Thanks a lot Lexie!
The BCE is like 3 years old or more and the Everyday is about 4 months old.
Looks like I'd qualify as long as I get a rep who can handle it.
I'm really interested to hear if anyone has reallocated CL's and then immediately pulled the trigger on a 3x CLI.
If anyone has any input it'd be greatly appreciated.

Anyone?
You can now do it online again just like in the hay day with amex, it's super easy and instant if both cards are old enough and the system tells you.
I think you go to account management
credit line management
reallocation or something

I would do it like Lexie suggested. Once you move over the CL you might have to wait 6 months to request the 3x CLI. That's if they will approve you for the 3x based on your new CL.
Oh missed the part about your CLI, I would do the CLI at 8-8, then after approval move your CL's

I don't recall the exact dates, but I transferred over CL and then, in less than 6 months (maybe 3 months) requested (and got after 4506-T) a CLI.

wow! Found it immediately! Thanks a lot CA!
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I will request my CLI on 8-8 and then immediately transfer the CL.
Hopefully 6 months later I'll be eligible for one helluva 3x! Woot!
