Trying to predict GE Wal-Mart auto CLI

I have the store version of GE Wal-Mart card for about 15 months now. I have been getting auto cli every 4 months.

Starting: 600 ---> 800 (or 1200 forgot) ---> 1600 ---> 2900 ---> ???? (Discover maybe?)

Using it every week for gas and at the store. PIF last month and waiting for statement to update. After that I will be going into 16 months so hopefully another auto cli.

What do you guys/gals think?

Re: Trying to predict GE Wal-Mart auto CLI

I have had my card  since July 2011. Started at $600, increased to $800 after a few months, then 3 months later $1400, and then last month $1500. They sent me the offer for the DIscover upgrade late September/early October. It's been mailed and I am waiting for it to arrive now, when I log it has my old WM store card and then a seperate Discover account with a link to activate once I get the card.

I don't know if there is a rhyme or reason to how they determine upgrades. I used mine pretty consistently recently since I moved and was furnishing my house. But there have been plenty of months where it sat inactive, which is why I think my credit increases have been so sporadic- I had no statements generate some months so the count to 4 statements before asking for a CLI took some work.

Re: Trying to predict GE Wal-Mart auto CLI

not if you call the underwritters you can find the number through google people get CLI in the first day after instant approval online even. CLI from 150 to 1000 is not too uncommon and upto 10x your CL to the claimed GECRB max of 10,000 is not unusual =)

I just noticed my Wal-mart limit went from $150 to $850. No notice or anything. My 4th statement is due to cut tomorrow.

Took your advice, called in, and got 5k :smileysurprised: I didn't want to push it.

I ask them 4 times if it will be a soft pull. He said that is correct.
