I too was seeing the linkages this year to upgrade my Delta Gold to Delta Platinum. I, however, took them at their word with no HP, didn't bother checking either on chat or call, and got the upgrade, then the miles no issues.

It's helpful to others that you share your experience, and I'm glad you got your miles.
