I'm in San Francisco
@Education44 wrote:These are the credit cards that I applied for this weekend:
Wells Fargo - $8,000 (instant approval -- my husband and I have a joint checking and savings with them)
Chase Freedom - $5,000 (I had to call the backdoor number (twice) to get approval -- they asked a few questions about my credit file)
Chase Southwest Airlines -- $2,000 (I had to call the backdoor number to get approval -- they asked a few questions about my credit file)
Discover It - $1,500 (instant approval)
At the time of my apps I had one inquiry on each of my credit reports, a paid state tax lien, a charge-off from an old HSBC account and a few lates from 2008 on my Merrick account. Also, when I was looking up something at the County Recorder's Office, I noticed that a judgment had been entered against me by Discover in 1994 (probably from a Target Card that I defaulted on when I was younger). So, I guess I haven't been blacklisted by Discover.
I can't believe that just a year ago my scores across the board were in the low 500s. This forum has taught me so much about managing credit. With this success I'm heading to the garden for at least a year and putting my sub-prime cards in my sock drawer.
Along with the cards listed above, I also have the following:
Capital One - $7,500
JC Penney's -- $5,000
Victoria Secret -- $1,150
Merrick -- $600
Credit One -- $550
Congrats!!!!
Congrats
Congrats! If I were you OP, I'd CLOSE those sub-prime cards, especially if they have any fees. I just dumped Credit One yesterday and got my new PayPal Extras card. Primeville feels great. The rebulders have done their jobs, feel free to cut them loose.
Congrats!
What CL did PayPal Extra's give you? I was thinking of applying with them this week and your scores are pretty similar to mine.
Congrats on the approval! All that gardening paid off!
Don't forget to change your siggy back to the seedling, to represent your new sprouts
I'll probably wait six months and then close them.
I went in this afternoon to change it, but I couldn't remember how. Can you remind me?
