Got approved for 3 out of 5 requests over the last week. First, last week, went from 1K to 10K on my BECU card. Got Citi Forward (instant approval) at $6500. Got BOA Travel Rewards Visa Signature (had to call for verification of address) at 5K. Got US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature for 5K. Not instant, but just called this morning and talked to a human and was told approved (thier automated system still said processing).
So, 2 of them (Citi and BOA), I have a CO with from 2005, so I can report that they have let me back in...and with decent limits! BECU pulled TU, BOA and US Bank pulled EX.
Chase denied CLI request, stating I have enough available credit. AMEX declined BCE, stating that my utilization was too high. I will admit it was around 22% UTIL, but that hardly seems high. Recon did not work. In both cases I talked to a human. On the plus side, both were soft pulls.
Still want my Discover back, which was also a CO in 2005, but it is still showing on EQ. If it falls of before these post to my CBR's, I will app, otherwise, I will have to wait at least a year.
Anyway, some nice new cards and nice limits. I am on cloud 9 right now!

I was recently approved for a BECU Visa @ 1k. Could you tell me your process for getting that increased to 10k?

No process really. I was actually declined in early 2010 for the BECU Visa, called back and pleaded my case. They said I was automatically declined by the system because of deragatory accounts. I explained to them that I had paid them 3 years prior and nothing was newer than that. They approved for 1K @ 18%. 1 year later after good payment history, they automatically reduced my APR to 12.9%. Then, last week, I called and asked for a CLI to do about 4K balance transfer and requested 8K. Their system automatically approved to 10K. I was quite pleased. I really didn't do anything special, just paid my bills on time. A few PIF's. Its nice to have a limit like that with a CU because you know they won't play any rate/limit games. That is the reason I am cancelling Juniper. Barclay's is too fickle and have not treated me with very much respect the last couple of years.
BECU did pull TU. That is where I got the FICO from.

OK, so I don't know if it still exists because I took quite a break from these boards, but I need the sleigh center...if anybody remembers that rehab joint. Got some great approvals from my app spree. Got approved for my best interest rate today at 10.5 and second-best CL at $6,900. Guess what, it was a credit union - AlaskaUSA FCU. And I know they won't have any intention of messing with my limits/rates as long as I pay at least the minimum. This is great. Interesting note - most CU's seem to pull EQ from what I see around here. They pulled TU. So, now it is off to update whogavemecredit.com with scores and limits for my app spree and and garden for years. I am set with some pretty great cards. I have decided I really don't need Discover with my current crop of cards and will not be applying.
