The first credit card ever issued to me was my US Bank Platinum which was issued to me about 12 years ago when I was 21 years old. They gave me a $500 CL which has sat there ever since then! I applied and was instantly approved for the US Bank Cash+ last summer with an opening CL of $7K. Five months later I got an auto CLI to $10.5K. STILL no auto CLI on my Platinum! Two weeks ago I bit the bullet and applied for a CLI on the Platinum through their website. I heard that requests under $1.4K do not receive HP's, so asked for a $1K increase to test this (I have more than enough CLI for my needs so really don't care about a small limit on this card as I only put $20 a month on it to keep it active).
Anyways... I received notification today that the increase was approved and did NOT receieve a HP. Curious if I would have if I had requested a $1.5K increase...
Congrats on the CLI. You might also try to PC that Platinum card into a second Cash+ card. Makes it easier to pick the 5% categories.
For the second card, was the opening CL exactly $7,000, with a 50% increase to 10,500?
The three US Bank cards I have experience with each got a 40% auto CLI about 9 or 10 months after opening.

Big congrats on getting your cli. Captain Hindsight says shoulda asked for 1400 .
Thanks! I would have, but the website only allowed increases in $500 increments. I was worried a $1.5K request would have triggered an HP. I'm a bit of a scardy cat

Thanks! Great suggestion regarding the PC change. I just worry that they wouldn't PC me to an additional Cash + at such a low CL without an HP? I will probably call to inquire about this. Will keep you posted!
Regarding the Cash+, my issued CL was an even $7K. I was issued an exact 50% increase within ~ 5 months of opening (opened in Aug 2016, auto CLI issued early Jan 2017). Not sure what drove the auto since I haven't put more than $300 on it in a given statement period.

FYI... Just called and they were able to PC me to an additional Cash+! Yay!!! Now I am curious to see if they issue me an additional Signature one or the non-Sig one. I'm actually hoping they give me a non-sig so I can more easily tell them apart.
Data point on CLI: I have used the CLI link multiple times, probably 7-8 times. Mostly with frozen CR (big 3). Every time a $1.5k request has been approved, even if I asked for all of my cards together. Only once was a $2k request approves, other times it was rejected because locked report. No hard pulls. 6 months apart for requesting a CLI on the same card.

Glad you reported as I have done two SP CLIs $1,500 each. Received an auto approve for $4,500 that I did not request an appeared not to be even an SP.
Congrats, two Cash+ are funner than one
