I received my June statement today and was looking it over when I noticed it said that I was eligible for a $4000 CLI. While I don't really need any more credit from them, I decided to call them just for kicks. I was curious if a soft or hard inquiry was involved. The CSR told me it would be a hard inquiry. I thanked him for his time and hung up since I didn't need the increase. I just thought I would pass this info along to all of you in case you were thinking about applying for CLI.
Where on the statement did it say your were eligible for a CLI?
That sounds weird..if you were eligible for an increase, why didn't they just raise it on their own instead of asking you to call in and request it? haha

That's the same thing I was thinking. US Bank is full of it!!

It shows on page 3 of my statement at the top under the caption "important messages."

I am sure they are just being cautious in today's market. I did not want to burn an inquiry for the CLI, since I am inquiry free across the board. The $4,000 increase wasn't worth it to me.

IMO, US Bank has been the best bank I have ever dealt with. Over the years I have had several mortgages, savings and checking accounts, cc's and loc. They are always polite and respectful on the phone or when I visit the bank in person. It's one of the few places that call me by my name even before I get to the tellers window. They are pleasure to deal with. We can't always get what we want, when we want it.
