US Bank Harley Davidson Visa Signature letter

[ Edited ]

I got my Decline letter from US Bank, they only stated reason for my decline was "Credit bureau report contains a number of recently opened trade lines."  They have my score at 694 on 11/11/2012 as the EQ Beaxon 5.0 score.  Would this be worth doing a recon for, or should I just wait about 6 months and try again?

Edited to include:

They did send me an invitation to apply for the secured version of the card and included the application.  I'm not going to get the secured version as I have no need one.

Well your sig doesn't say the age of your cards, but you have 13 cards now.

Do you need another card?

13 is about 10 more than i would get lol

The BBRZMC, Walmart and HSN have been open for over a year.  All the others have been in the last 6 months.  This is after nearly 6 years of no credit cards and relying solely on cash.

I think this is a open and shut case of you have done too much in too little time. Give it a year. Your lucky nobody else has started AA

Agreed.

10 cards in 6 months is a bit extreme.

It might be fun to take that new car out for a spin and joy ride every day after not having one for 6 yrs, but it only increases your chance of getting in an accident.

^^haha.

idk if you didn't have CCs cuz you were rebuilding during that time, but if thats the case, I'd like to caution you to not take out soo many CCs.  You might end up back where you were and have to rebuild again.

And it is exactly why US Bank didn't pick you up.  You pose wayy too much risk.

IMO, a recon will not even be remotely possible.

US Bank seems to be very conservative... I would suggest that you should garden for 12 months before looking for additional cards :smileyhappy:

Best of Luck!

Re: US Bank Harley Davidson Visa Signature letter

I called and yes it was too many new accounts.  The nice gentleman on the other end of the phone said I should try again in 6 months.  So it's into the garden for at least 6 months as this card would be nice to have since my DW loves all things Harley.  Thanks again for all the advice and admonishments.  Having gone so long without I was just on a app bender :smileyembarrassed:  At least I have a goal to work toward instead of just being in the garden.
