US Bank Platinum - CLI??

Wondering if anyone has had any luck with requesting a CLI on their US Bank Platinum card (or really any US Bank credit card) without a hard pull? I've had the card for almost 2 years and I have not yet received a CLI, either automatic or initiated.

From what I understand, they SP your report each month, but will still do a hard pull if you request an increase?

Should I try to PC to the Cash + card?

Any advice? Thanks!

Call underwriting at 1-800-947-1444. Explain to them how long you have had the card without an increase. Tell them you do not want a HP on your credit report. They should be able to give you the $1500 increase needed to get the Select Rewards card. Cash+ will be a HP unless you already had a $3500 limit. Usually they can do $1500 increases with soft pulls.

Re: US Bank Platinum - CLI??

I currently have a $2000 limit. If I could get them to give me $1500 without a HP, bringing my CL to $3500, would they PC to the Cash +? Hmmm. Thanks!

Cash+ requires a $5,000 limit.

So get that increase to $3,500. You might be able to PC to select rewards. Then get that increased to $5,000 then you might be able to PC to Cash+. Each step will take 6 months.

Or be willing to take a HP and see if you can get the Cash+ in addition to your platinum card. If they decline call for recon, offer to close out the platinum card contingent on approval of the Cash+.

Re: US Bank Platinum - CLI??

I'm attempting to purchase a house in the next year and do not want any HPs on the report. I have 2 from July 2012 (one of EQ and one on EX) - but other than that, they are clear and I'd rather them stay that way :smileyhappy: When I applied for my USB CC, they HPd my Equifax TWICE! I don't want that happening again. SOOO, I think I'll test my luck with asking for an CLI with a SP.

Yes, they sure do like to HP. They will never garantee you a soft pull, but will say usually under $1500 is a soft pull.

Re: US Bank Platinum - CLI??

Call underwriting and see if they can process the request while you are still on the phone. Don't allow an automated system to do a HP. Just be very clear you do not want a HP on your CR.
