US Bank Secured Card

Anyone have it?  Does it report as a secured card?  Or does it report as a regular unsecured revolving account?

Re: US Bank Secured Card

I had the secure card a couple of years ago and it reported as a secured cared on my report. The funny thing is when I was in the bank signing up for the secured card I was reading pamphlet that read-THE ONLY PERSON THAT WOULD KNOW THE CARD WAS SECURED IS YOU. I do not know if that's the case now but u can always call and ask them.

I think when they say your the only one that will know it's secured is when your charging with the card, the card itself does not reflect anything but a credit card.

I had a secured card from Bank of America and it reported as a regular visa.

I remember seeing that on the pamphlet many years ago, and life got in the way before we opened the account.  I then heard some secured cards report to the bureau as secured.  I am worried that it is a waste of time getting this card if the "secured status" will effect the FICO score.

Does anyone know if that will not hold as much weight being a secured card?

I hard that BofA's secured card is a good one, but because of it being BofA I can't bring myself to do it.

Re: US Bank Secured Card

They have two secured cards. I would not need the airline miles, but the APR is better on the SKYPASS card, but has a higher annual fee.  I guess that does not matter since I will not be carrying a balance, right?  Anyone have the SKYPASS?  Do you know if the air miles transfer to other airlines at all?

Re: US Bank Secured Card

Well, I did some snooping and sort of answered my own questions here.

The regular secured card is not available to those in florida.  But the skypass card is available to me, and i can use the skypass points with a dozen other airlines.  since I do a massive amount of travelling that is probably the card for me.  So i might have a higher yearly fee, but i'll have a lower APR in case I have to carry a balance for a month.
