I signed up for for my 2nd qua categories, and noticed that they didnt include Bill Pay, its been replaced by Cell Phone and Sporting Goods Stores. I'm sure myself and others earned significant returns (which probably explains this category is absent) by earning 5% paying bills. Hope it returns as this was a major selling point for me...
Yeah it was a bummer when cardholders found out. Mostly everyone who was approved chose that category which hey! who wouldnt? But yeh hopefully it comes back.

Given the amount of losses that category has the potential to generate, I doubt it'll be coming back.

It won't be coming back since it was so abused.
If it does come back, I'll probably pay all my bills for a whole year.
Or at least car insurance, electricity, and cable. Those are my 3 highest bills.
A category can't be abused if customers were using it asintended (unlike playing the cash back system with $500 gift cards). Still, it's sad to see it go. I'm still going to app for this card as a restaurant card but I was looking forward to it for utilities. Oh well...

Im pretty sure people were saying they were prepaying their bills and using it to pay bills for their business as well. I am also pretty sure neither of those are how US Bank intended the category to be used.
should US bank choose to institute a quarterly cap, i could see the Bill Pay coming back on a revolving basis. No doubt it will never come back with unlimited caps after all the fatwallet/slickdealers abused the hell out of it.
