They are running a promotion 200$ for CHK with DD+100$ bonus 50+50 if you put a 1k into savings, not to mention you get 25% extra points and a free account. And you can also have a line of credit with like 8% APR. Good bank...I came to stay ...

Do you have a link? Sounds like a good deal. It would go nicely with my US Bank Cash+ card.

Re: US Bank--what to do?

They did say it is a targeted offer, but i talked with a specialist who told me they are gonna honor the bonuses if you meet the requirements. It is just gonna take them some time.

Here it is

Open a gold checking package, sign up for AutoPay on Cash + and the account is free,  also you are opening a savings in this package just sign up for their START program and you can get another 100$

Flexperks if you understand how it works and use it for travel purposes is much better than the Cash+ I would skip on the all cash back cards if you intend to travel at all even every few years.

I think you are the only other person who understands that. I have declined offers from US Bank to PC my flexperks to cash+.

Re: US Bank--what to do?

US bank gives 25% additional rewards on Cash + card only with Platinum checking account. No other checking acccount gives you additional bonus

Platinum checking account comes with monthly $18 fee and there is no way to avoid monthly fee by direct deposit.

The only way to avoid this $18 fee is to have $25,000 investments or loans or mortgage or credit card balances or a combination of these.

With 3 popular categories from Cash + going away from end Mar 2013, it may not be worthwhile to open a platinum account only for the bonus on cash back rewards

The bonuses with the chequing acccounts are only on the 1% that the cards earn, making it a 1.25 or 1.50% cashback card. You do not get the bonus on the 5% categories. Just pointing that out.

You got it wrong, gold account gives you 25% extra points and you can have that account free if you set up an autopay on you cc, and platinum account gives 50% extra points on spending and yes it does have those requirements.

But it looks like it is good until 8/10/13 after that they are probably gonna kill the bonus...

So there won't be any bonus for having a Gold or Platinum Checking Package?
