Let me re-word that...I am a full member. But just got the membership with USAA earlier this month.

whats on your eq report if you dont mind me asking? i guess your apr solves the mystery with those having full membership get the lower apr

On my EQ, I have 3 baddies - all quickly approaching 7 years. All 30 or 60 day lates. Had 3 others on there that I did PFD on and may have been removed today. They were on there this morning but I cannot pull another report until tomorrow AM. So technically, 6 lates. 3 to be (if not already) removed. 3 more to fall off over the next 4 months. So that explains the APR. Once those are all off, perhaps I can renegotiate my APR?

i dont know. i dont have any experience with usaa. i could become a full member and they tend to offer the same options as nfcu. you may have to wait a year then request an apr reduction if youve managed to get all those lates off

Congrats!  I absolutely love USAA. They approved me for everything I've applied for.  The only thing I dislike is I cannot get rental insurance with them since I live in Florida.

Fortunately, I live in Texas so I currently have Rental Insurance through them and will be looking to get a home loan with them as well when the time comes. So far, I have nothing but love for USAA! They are extremely nice and helpful on the phone!

The report that they pulled last week had a CO on it that did not come off until Tuesday of this week. I called the backdoor number to see if they would recon. I am going to need to fax them a copy of my current credit report for them to reconsider. Hopefully, I can fax that to them and they will reconsider. I will post results...

I have been with USAA for the past 6 years and I have nothing but love for them as well. I have everything with them as well.

Amex has been known to recon when the reason for denial has been rectified. If the baddie is off, I'd say you have a good chance. Your EX FICO is pretty good!
