These are different than the Amex cards offered by American Express Centurion Bank.
These cards are backed by USAA bank, and use the Amex payment processing network.
Its the same as getting a Chase Freedom Visa, which is backed by Chase bank, but the payments are processed over the Visa Network.
Or a Walmart Discover, which is backed by GE Capital Retail Bank, but processed over the discover network.
