Who do the usaa amex pull anyone know?  I think Usaa pulls Eq usually,  but I didn't know if it was different since it was co branded.

Re: USAA Amex?

USAA pulled EQ for my HELOC and for my daughters' CC's, but I had read that they were pulling EX more recently. Our most recent CC was DD#2 in September, and again, it was EQ. We're in Tennessee.

Re: USAA Amex?

Has anyone tried using any of the Amex features on the USAA Amex Card (e.g. purchase protection, warranty extension, etc)? If so, how was your experience. Did USAA handle this as well or did you go through Amex directly?

Re: USAA Amex?

Is USAA BK friendly? Mine was discharged in May of 2003, my scores are TU=633, EQ=691, and EX=672. I have close to 70% Util. available to me on my cards and no baddies since the BK. I desperately want my own Amex (my younger brother was kind enough to put me as an AU on his Blue account and Gold Rewards, but I really would like to have my own).

Current:
TU (5/14/14): 796 (Inquiries; 8/23/13)
EQ (3/23/14): 791 (Inquiries: 8/23/13)
EX (9/24/13): 780 (Inquiries: 7/2/12; 11/20/12; 7/30/13; 8/23/13)

Goals: No new inquiries for 2014, 800 for all CRs by 12/31/14

If you have been w/ USAA for a long time and have several different types of accounts with them (e.g. checking, IRA, savings) you probably have a strong chance...good luck!

Re: USAA Amex?

Hmmm, perhaps I should look at setting up some of my accounts there then. I have several at HSBC, but they don't really seem to appreciate my business too much.

Good idea. My step mom, has been with USAA for 20 years, and has several accounts with them applied for a Amex with them last week and got the best darn offer. Her BK was 5 6 yrs old, but still on her file.

She go a Black Amex with a 25K limit, 0 % APR on Purchases and BTs for the first year, 5 % cash back on gas and groceries for first 12 months, and a 8.9% APR after the first year. I was jealous...my scores are about 50 pts higher on average than hers...however, she has been a long, loyal customer and that counts more than anything with them.

P.S. None of her other cards have a CL above 10K and APR below 16 %...that just further demonstrates my point: USAA is all about the customer, their history with them, and the number of products they use with them.

Good luck!

Re: USAA Amex?

Sorry to hear. By chance, doesn't HSBC offer an Amex card? I use to see one in various places - might be worth a google. Good luck!
