USAA Data Point

I was on the phone with a Credit Analyst at USAA a few minutes ago and was inquiring about my $500 AMEX since my other two cards are $7k each. I wanted to get the AMEX limit up to the Visa Sig and MC, but no dice due to i=the AMEX being a classic card which takes 18 months to graduate to a rewards category.

Data Point: Was asking ho wmany cards a member can have and the CA told me a member can have 100 if they want but the combined credit limits for CC's cannot exceed $50k for any member unless exception is given. This is good to know that there is room for credit growth if your CL's fall below the $50k, plus members here have been saying the CC limit with USAA is 4. Well those of you who only have 4 but do not meet the $50k limit can apply for more.

Hope this helps someone.

I have a 1k limit classic card amex but I was told that classic cards do not get a CLI nor get rewards so if I wanted rewards or anything else i would have to apply for it...hmmm i wonder if I should wait the 18 months and see how it goes...

I had my $500 Classic AMEX for less than a month and applied for the VISA SIggy and MC. Ended up with a $7k Visa & $7k MC in two days. Apply if your report is clean. FYI USAA will be converting all MC to Visa due to USAA cancelling their business relationship with Mastercard.

Re: USAA Data Point

Thanks for the info. I have two USA cards but only $7000 in CL over the two. It's enough for now.
