Re: USAA Raising Rates to 11.9

My USAA increase is also 2%, from 6.9% to 8.9%.

I agree that reading USAA's notice of the increase was almost pleasant.Smiley Tongue

I have been a USAA member since I've been independant, and USAA has demonstrated class and loyalty on a level that I've not experienced with any other creditor (and I have 4 mortgages, and have had well over a dozen credit cards).  I still get blown away when they REFUND part of my insurance premium each year.  Insurance rates are already low with them, but they still give some of the premiums back to members.  This is a first class organization, and I use their card more than others in part just because they treat me so well.

Good news for me today from them (as always Smiley Happy ) I got my 6 month CLI. It was only for 1k, but hey, they doubled my line. And it was a  soft pull. I'm still tickled with the 10k Amex I got from them, so this is good enough. It's growing with me and that's what matters. This bank has really been good to us.

Congrats! I hadn't heard any news for a very long time about automatic CLIs from USAA. I was beginning to give up hope that USAA was still giving them. Before the economic problems, I had received two in a row six months apart. Then once the economic problems started, bam! .. no more CLIs for me.

Re: USAA Raising Rates to 11.9

I hope I receive the letter soon.  I might call them if I don't receive it by mid Jan.  The increase for me won't be too bad since my current rate is 5.75 on the AMEX & MC.

I didnt know they did auto CLIs.  I didnt receive one at 6 mo and I just passed my 1 yr mark.

They auto'd me several times, but that was in my pre-forums, credit oblivion days, and I barely even noticed. Let's see, looking at a full EX report, which shows the history of the CL's:

on the AmEx:

Between Jun 2008 and Nov 2008, your credit limit/high balance was $10,000
Between Apr 2008 and May 2008, your credit limit/high balance was $5,000
Between Oct 2007 and Mar 2008, your credit limit/high balance was $30,000 <--freak accident with the luv button
Between Jul 2007 and Sep 2007, your credit limit/high balance was $4,500 <--auto at six months
Between Jan 2007 and Jun 2007, your credit limit/high balance was $3,000

on the MC:

Between Jun 2008 and Nov 2008, your credit limit/high balance was $27,000
Between Mar 2008 and May 2008, your credit limit/high balance was $32,000
Between Feb 2007 and Feb 2008, your credit limit/high balance was $7,000 <--auto at fourteen months?
Between Dec 2005 and Jan 2007, your credit limit/high balance was $6,000
(opened October 2004; no clue what original CL was)

I didnt know that the full EX report gives that type of info!  Does it do it for all of the accts?  Both of my CCs have been at 20K since they were opened.

It will, going back 2 years. It also shows your balances during this time, so if a lender is bored enough, s/he can see if you ever went over limit! Smiley Wink

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the reports that lenders get show this from all three CRA's. Even when we get our "full" report, it's still just what they give to consumers. Betcha there's more on the others.

Re: USAA Raising Rates to 11.9

It's at the end of each account. Did you get the full report, the one with the soft inquiries?

eta: here's what mine looks like (it's a year old, trying to keep it on one screen, lol):

Re: USAA Raising Rates to 11.9

Is there a link at the top called "Requests for your credit history"? Click that, and the softs will be right below the hards. Be sure that you've clicked printable version.

Otherwise, it's right under the list of the accounts in good standing.

I do have an old one saved that's what I call the kindergarten-ish layout, but it comes with one of the monitoring services. I hope that mine isn't a version that you only get with a dispute. I've had these things going for so long that I can't remember for sure how I got there!
