Well afer finally realizing that there was NO way to get an unsecured card, Ive decided to go with USAA amex! Just starting off with the $250.00 limit. This will be my first active CC in almost 5 years! I'm so excited to start building good credit!
Anyone here have the Secured Amex though usaa?

Congrats! It is a great product and it has helped me tremendously. I put an intial deposit of 5k 2 years ago. It was my only CC aside from my Sony Cap1 card (which I did not know was still active, thats another story). Later this month I will complete two years, close my account and receive my deposit.
It was not till Dec. that I received my first couple of unsecured CC. On the first I applied for the unsecured USAA Amex and received a 5.5k limit, thus replacing my 5k credit limit +500 and helping me with my util.
Use it and always pay on time, doesn't have to be in full all the time but if you can, do so. Patience is key and a little discipline will go a long way. Guarantee it.
Assuming you can get in, have you looked at the nRewards secured card from NFCU? There is a chance it will graduate and grow with you so you dont have to axe the account at some point. Great rewards as well for a secured..
Yeah, Ive looked at it but right now while im trying to pay off old debt. $500.00 is a bit much right now. Paying off 1700 in bad debt this month. I'll look into getting that secured card next month when i have the extra cash. Depending on when i get my tax return, I might be able to get it in two weeks.
From what ive heard, 2 secured cards is enough right?
How in the blue cross are you getting that card? I could have sworn they discontinued it, it isn't available for me. Or is it military only like the other 90% of their offerings?

When I applied for the secured card on there website the Amex card was the one they offered me. I'm not in the military.
Did you end up applying for the secured card and all that was offered was the MasterCard?
I just try to submit the app and I get
