Your new card will be upgraded to a chip card with state-of-the art security technology and a new look. Once your new card arrives, activate it right away. Your old card will be deactivated July 27, 2015.
What Is a Chip Card?
A chip card is a credit card with microprocessors embedded to help reduce the risk of fraudsters targeting your confidential information.
Using Your New Chip Card Is Easy
You can start using your card immediately at any chip-enabled payment terminal. Simply insert your card and follow the prompts.
If a merchant doesn't have a chip-enabled payment terminal, or you're making an online purchase, just use your chip card as you would a regular credit card. Also, if you make automatic payments with your card, please make sure businesses have your current card information.
Security Technology Is Changing - Your Account Isn't
During the next two years, we'll continue to replace USAA credit and debit cards with chip cards to help increase security for all accounts. If you have other USAA cards, you'll continue to receive notifications about new chip cards before you receive them. And, you can rest assured that:

· | There will be no fees for the chip technology upgrade. |
· | Easy-to-follow activation instructions will be included with your new chip card. |
· | If you have a personalized PIN, it will also remain the same. |
