I didn;t know USAA allowed people who aren't affiliated with the military get in with them, a co-worker told me today. I opened a checking account with them today.
How are their credit cards?? Any idea who they pull and are they generous with CL's?

They pull Equifax. I think they are, my equifax Fico is 677 and they gave me a 4000.00 limit. But, I do think they are more forgiving with the credit score and credit limits if you are a full member.

Incredible, friendly customer service has been my experience with them.
Sign up for offers and see if anything good comes up after a month or so. There's a forum, of sorts, to look around and see if folks in whatever situation have had luck or gotten cards. They're known for generous lines but at the same time, being very conservative about who they lend money to.
They denied me a mortgage during pre-approval because student loans made DTI too high. Five minutes after the phone call ended, someone called to see how I was doing. A week or two later, someone else called and wanted to know what my plans were, how things are, etc...
Somewhere on your screen there'll be an "Offers" tab. Just keep checking that until something shows up. I ended up with two cards from them with $3K and $5K limits.

This true for full members. My first card offer was for $25K. I am a checking, savings and insurance member.

Can't go wrong with USAA insurance products. I'm military and i do believe that is required for the insurance products. So if you are active or former military you are good to go. If not, you will be happy with their credit cards.

A partial member (not military member) doesn't eligible for credit cards and products such as insurance. The credit card APR might be as high as 24%. You might not qualify for the credit cards with rewards. They usually pulls EQ and sometimes EXP.

So I can't get a credit card with them?
