Well just got off the phone with Barclaycard about the new cards here is what I found.

Notices will be sent in April. The transition will be in Q3. You will have the option of what card to PC to.

Silver - WEMC known didn't ask about others.

$195 AF

Rewards, 3 at AA and USAirways 1 everywhere else

1st checked bag free self and companions

Companion certificate after 30k annual spend, yearly

Red - 

$89 AF

Rewards, 2 at AA and USAirways 1 everywhere else

1st checked bag free self and upto 4 companions

No companion cert available

Blue - 

$49 AF 

Rewards, 2 at AA and USAirways 1 everywhere else

No fee checked bag for companions

No companion cert available

White - 

$0 AF

Rewards, 1 at AA and USAirways .5 everywhere else

No free checked bags for companion

No companion cert available.

The red seems pretty close to the AA card.  It's possible the the rep you talked to isn't aware of every benefit.

I think I will stay with red, not just because it's "red" but one trip with someone would break even for checked luggage.

Me too, as with the new PRG, I may downgrade to white for awhile if I get a small retention on my PRG when that time comes, haha

My app was under the preferred link, It did mention 10K anniv bonus so I may keep red for a year and then downgrade to a white. I'm gonna see if I can keep the bonus even if I downgrade to blue and or white though. 10K for $89 aint terrible, but 10K free is better!
