Unsecured Rebuilding Credit Cards

Anyone know of an easy unsecured credit card to get approved for? Working on rebuilding a friends credit report. He had a baddie with First Premier but it was so old that they are no longer reporting on him. Would it be a bad idea to see if they would reconsider him as a customer again? He did settle for less that full amount at the time. Any advice appreciated on both questions. Thanks!
